ERSF money has helped empower school going children, aged six to 12 years, with personal safety skills to protect themselves from sexual abuse.

The £5,000 grant to Arpan has also been used to teach parents and teachers with prevention and intervention skills to protect and help children who have been sexually abused.

The Personal Safety Education Programme (PSE) is one of the critical preventive programmes in Arpan which is based on a life skill module to empower children and their stakeholders (school management, parents, and teachers) with the adequate knowledge, attitude and skill to prevent the risk of CSA and to seek support if such a case has occurred.

In January, 2013 – December, 2013) Personal Safety Education programme has reached out 10,770 children, 6000 parents and teachers. The ERSF fgrant helped to reach out to 300 children and 75 parents and teachers.
