Bapuji Youth Association

A computer training programme for poor children in rural areas has been successfully implemented thanks to an ERSF grant to the Bapuji Youth Association.

The money not only helped finance the computer centre but also paid for a Jeep to tackle the issues of transport support for women’s groups to promote their business.

President of Bapuji Youth Association, Mrs Jessey Grace, explained: “The children who had passed out from the computer centre were able to go for better jobs instead of depending on the seasonal agriculture and remaining jobless during the off-season. The computer education serves to be a real model for other service providers, and it has influenced the activities of the organisation.”

She added: “The facility of the transport had strengthened the rural poor women to improve their business and to move to the towns to purchase in bulk and also to take their products to the market.”
