An autistic centre in Suceava, Romania, has received a make-over thanks to a £6,700 grant from the ERSF.

The bulk of the money was used on refurbishments inside and out (including bathroom and kitchen) while the remainder paid for furniture, equipment and a sensory room.

“As there are no such facilities in northern Romania, whilst the prevalence of autism is extremely high in the area, this is the very first time that the children get the appropriate support they require for their disability,” said FARA Foundation chairman Jane Nicholson.

“This autism centre with its therapy and educational services completes FARA’s programme for children with complex needs.”
