Religions for Peace

A £3,200 grant was given by ERSF to Religions for Peace to enable the Inter Religious Council of Sierra Leone to develop a programme of advocacy, sensitisation and education on HIV/AIDS for all.

The money was also used for the counselling and care for those most vulnerable in communities throughout all four provinces of Sierra Leone – from the capital Freetown to the most remote rainforest villages.

“Without this money at that time, the IRC SL work would have ceased to function,” explained a Religions for Peace spokesman. “With it, they have survived to continue their work as the only NGO that represents the many faith communities which reach into the furthermost corners of their country – the least developed country in the world.”
