St Giles Trust training for women prisoners

Training women prisoners in HMP Holloway to increase their chances of getting paid employment on release and reduce the chances of their re-offending is something that ERSF has supported to the tune of £20,000.

The grant made to St Giles Trust has enabled a Motivational Worker to run four courses in the prison for 27 women, and the ‘Job Club’ has gone from strength to strength. There was also a Jobs Fair set up which was well attended by local employees.

St Giles believes that jobs and housing are key to reducing reoffending. All recent studies show that having a stable home can reduce reoffending by 20-30% and paid employment by up to 50%.
