St Mary’s Hospital and Juba Hospital

A £12,000 grant from ERSF has helped in the construction of a bungalow to house visiting UK medical trainers to Juba, capital of South Sudan.

The project is part of the St Mary’s Hospital, Newport, Isle of Wight, and Juba Hospital Link. Staff go out on a regular basis to help train nurses, midwives, doctors and other healthcare professionals

Building materials have to be imported from Kenya or Uganda which makes building in Juba costly, but the bungalow should be complete by March/April 2012.

“Erach and Roshan Sadri Foundation was the first organistation to make a substantial donation to our Charity soon after its formation in 2008,” said Dr Eluzai Hakim, medical advisor to the Link. “This boosted our morale and strengthened our resolve to press on with the construction of this vital accommodation.”
