The TRaVEL training and volunteering project for homeless people, run by Thames Reach, attracted an £18,000 grant from ERSF.

The money contributed to the direct delivery costs of the project; this includes the cost of a tutor, cost of training resources and volunteer expenses.

A spokesman for Thames Reach said: “This grant has helped us achieve some hugely successful outcomes around engaging some of the most excluded members of society.

“Since launching the project 19 months ago, 87 individuals have participated in the scheme. We have also achieved some very successful progression outcomes, with 16 formerly homeless participants already being supported to access paid employment and a further 29 progressing to mainstream education or volunteering.”
