A training programme for pre-school teachers has been started by Sethu thanks to a £8,027 grant from ERSF.

The entire amount was spent on project related activities and materials including a laptop computer and digital camera.

Dr Nandita de Souza, Director at Sethu Centre for Child Development & Family Guidance, said: “The ERSF grant was very helpful in setting up Gnyandeep, the pre-school teachers’ training programme at Sethu.

“Though the format of the course has changed since we first started, it has become an annual feature and five batches have been trained so far. This training has enabled teachers to become familiar with the various aspects of child development and behaviour and imparted skills based on modern research-based methods of teaching young children.
